We are a dental plan that stands for simplicity, so here are just a few quick tips to help you get the most out of your Policy — before, during and after a dental appointment.
First things first — sign up for an online account.
Registering for an online Dentegra account gives you a quick-and-easy dashboard view of your plan benefits. Plus if you are signed up for email alerts, you’ll find out when new billing or benefit statements and other plan- and Policy-related documents are available to view or take action. Please note: Because we like to keep things simple, if you don’t owe the dentist anything, your benefit statement will only be available online1 – so signing up for email alerts will let you know when a new document is available.
You can also look up your benefits, confirm eligibility for anyone covered under your Policy, submit secure customer service requests and generally stay connected with us and up-to-speed on your Dentegra dental Policy.
How do I sign up for email alerts?
Once logged in, make sure your delivery preference under “User Settings” is set to Online. It’s that easy.
Use the online Dentegra provider directory to find a network dentist.
You can choose any dentist, but finding one in our network will likely save you money. Dentegra PPO dentists* agree to accept Dentegra contracted fees as full payment, which in most cases will mean lower costs for you. (Review your Policy for complete details.)
Double check the dentist’s participation status in the Dentegra network when you make your appointment. Even though we keep our directory updated on a daily basis, things can change quickly. You don’t want to be surprised by a higher cost bill from an out-of-network dentist.

It’s ok if you forget your ID card.
You don’t need it! Your dentist can find you in our system with your social security number.
Talk to your dentist about your health and treatment options.
When you visit the dentist, he or she will ask you to share your dental and medical history and any prior complications. Dentists can identify signs of more serious health conditions and should be made aware of general health information that may be critical to your dental care.
Visit a network dentist for easy claims processing.
When you visit a Dentegra dentist, your claims are submitted for you. There’s nothing more for you to do but sit back and wait for your statement notification!
When the dentist bill comes (or your receipt if you’ve already paid), take a moment to double check that your payment amount matches what our dental benefits statement says. If it doesn’t, give your dentist a call first to see what might have happened. If you have any trouble, contact us.
1 Except in IL, ME, NH, OH, TN and WY, where you will receive a mailed benefits statement when you have no coinsurance, unless you log in and change your delivery preference to Online.
